Trip to Tasmania was a last minute one that my friends, my partner and I have planned, but an amazing one!
We spent only four days there, but it was enough for me to fall in love with the island.
As soon as we landed there we got our rental car at Bargain Car Rentals and then we drove straight to Salamanca Market in Hobart.
The Salamanca Market is located in historic Salamanca Place, next to the Hobart waterfront, the market has over 300 stallholders, and operates every Saturday between 8.30 am to 3.00 pm.
We stayed a couple of hours at the market, walking around and tasting some amazing food.
After the market we headed up to Mount Wellington and that was a blast!
That spot is so perfect but the wind was next level haha I almost fell a few times lol so worth it though!
Right after that we decided to head home to rest before the big day we have planned for sunday.
We stayed in a cute house by the beach in Randalls Bay.
The entire place is a dream, I can totally see my self living in a house like that in the future.
The next day we drove for 3:30 hours to the beautiful Freycinet National Park. We decided to go on a 6km hick to Wineglass Bay and when we got to the lookout wow! That view blew my mind away!!
And so we decided to walk down to the beach and that was wild.
On our way we saw a tiger snake and I just freaked the hell out! It was the very first time I saw a snake in the woods lol but we kept on going and when I saw that blue water I completely forgot the snake drama.
The drive back home was the most terrifying one!
We were all so tired and what was supposed to be 3:30 hours drive, turned out to be a 5 hours drive.
We left the park in the evening and this time is the worst to drive since the wild life is all over the place!
I was driving like 20km/h tops, no kidding haha and when we got home I was just glad I didn’t hit any animals !!
But at the same time was so cool that we got to see some wild life on the way, like kangaroos, koalas and even a couple of tasmanian devils!
On the next day, 31st of December, we decided to just head to the beach near the airbnb place and just chill for the rest of the day.
And for NYE we played some card games and went to bed early so that we could be 100% for the next day and star the year fresh !
On the 1st of January we woke up early, had breakfast and drove to Hobart, so that we could go check out the MONA Museum!
The museum is so cool!! If you ever go to Tassie, please go to MONA, so so worth the drive!
My partner and I went on this trip with a couple of friends, who like us, love food! And in order to say goodbye to Tassie we decide to do it with style, and of course our final destination was The Taste of Tasmania!
I’ll definitely be back to Tassie! There’s so much to see still, I only saw maybe 10% of it all !! And who knows, maybe one day I’ll just get myself a cute little house by the beach there #dreamsdoconetrue !
The landscape photos are all for sale. If you’re interested, feel free to e-mail me 🙂
